PlayStation 3 titles could be headed to the PS Vita TV

According to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House, the PlayStation 3 games could eventually be delivered through a cloud service.

Sony's recently announced PS Vita TV set-top box could eventually deliver PlayStation 3 games directly to a television, according to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House.

Speaking to Nikkei in an interview publishedThursday, House said that while the PS Vita TV will initially allow gamers to download titles for the PlayStation Vita, PSP, and PlayStation 1 to the box for playing on their televisions, PlayStation 3 support could be around the corner.

"In the future, Sony Computer Entertainment will offer games developed for the PS3 to PS4and PS3 by using a cloud-based game distribution service," House told Nikkei. "Technically, the PS Vita TV can support such games. Therefore, SCE is considering providing PS3 games to the PS Vita TV by using the service in the future."

Sony unveiled the PS Vita TV earlier this week. The device will launch in Japan on November 14 for about $95, and could eventually make its way to the US. It's designed to bridge the gap between mobile devices and the television.
